Putting our commitment to social justice into action, the fellowship
has taken on the following priorities:
We serve at the Soup Kitchen on the fourth Sunday of each month.
We are supporting the Multiple Sclerosis Society by riding in the MS 150
Bikeathon each year and providing communication, emergency medical and other support.
We have created a bicycling group within UUFNB and plan to continue that
tradition next September. We would love to add more participants. We start on
group training rides in the spring and increase the frequency and intensity
until we are a lean, mean cycling machine come early September. You need not be
in great shape to start; just possess a good attitude and some determination.
Also don't think age is a barrier. There were dozens of participants in their
80's who finished the MS 30 mile event last September We have a lot of fun in
the process. If you are interested in joining our group let Kevin Reynolds know
and you will notified by email of our training rides. For more information,
contact UUFNB@yahoo.com.
We have adopted a Burmese Refugee family and are providing them with general
support, English training and social opportunities.
