Ode to Joy
The art of happiness has many components. It begins with developing an understanding of what are the truest sources of happiness and setting your priorities in life based on the cultivation of those sources.

The Hermit’s Guide to Health and Happiness
We've forgotten the importance of a good foundation, which is the basics of health and happiness. We've become frustrated, disoriented, and downright confused!

The Long and the Short of It
The Universe has certain characteristics. One of the most basic is polarity: hot and cold, in and out, up and down, light and dark. We will look at the spiritual implications of this.

Naming the Mystery
What I offer you, today, is not my experience. What I offer you, today, is not my solution. I offer you opportunity, to meet the cosmos on your terms, to embrace the unknown in your way, to name it how you wish to name it, to encounter this mystery with your integrity intact.

Groping for Spiritual Truth in Dense Fog
I applaud these folks: The National Geographic, Moyers, Dawkins, for doing something that takes courage. Like: daring to challenge the status quo, teaching the people, doing what at this particular time is politically incorrect.

Metamorphosis
The most important thing is love. Let those who feel cautious, and those who feel adventurous, not forget to love each other. Respect one another's opinions. Listen to what's being said. Don't be so attached to a particular outcome that you forget the most important outcome of all: A vibrant, happy, loving community of faith. Let those who favor caution, try on a little excitement. Let those who feel more enthusiastic, proceed with restraint. Let no one try to move things along, and let no one try to hold things back, and it will all get done in the fullness of time.

Moving Beyond the Shadow

Before we learn to speak, we think our true nature is to love and be happy, to explore and enjoy life. We think of little children as completely authentic. Their actions are guided by instinct and emotion.
As children develop, their understanding of who they are and who they can be comes largely from their family of origin and by their caretakers. While it’s always been known that our families influence us, we have now discovered that the influence is far beyond what was imaged by our parents, grandparents, and the generations before them.

The Democratic Process

Why, indeed, should there not be a patient confidence in the ultimate justice of the people?
Abraham Lincoln knew that the answer to this question surely points to faith. I submit that the faith it points to is deeper, even, than the faith that right makes might. It is faith in the ultimate goodness of human nature, hope that in the end, "the people" will make right decisions and right choices.

Sumer is icomen in

How and why did the Mayday celebrations get left behind when the Celts emigrated to the US? What message can we take from the ritual of "Conjuring summer in," and just who was "The Green Man?"
