The Society for the Relief of Free Negroes Unlawfully Held in Bondage was the first American abolition society. It was founded April 14, 1775, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Unitarian Benjamin Franklin and Universalist Benjamin Rush were Founding Members.   America has been fractured by race since before it’s founding.  What is the path towards becoming whole nation that recognizes all of its citizens.
